Alhaji Dahiru Bara’u Mangal is a businessman whose generosity knows no bounds. He feeds for free, he sponsors free medical care, he spends freely on other good causes, and all his estates around the country are occupied by ‘tenants’ for next to nothing ‘rent’.

The Katsina Steel Rolling Mill estate located along Dutsinma road is an excellent example. The business mogul built more houses in the estate, and allowed the old and new occupants of the houses that to live in the houses FREE OF CHARGE for as long as they desired.

However, those close to him, many of who HATE to see others, but themselves, benefit from anything, argued and persuaded him to charge rent for “your investment Alhaji”. Against his genuine desire to assist those who are not opportune to own their own houses, he reluctantly agreed. He however, invited the occupants to a meeting with him, where he asked them how much each one could afford to pay as annual rent.

When he heard them, he asked them to pay less than N10,000 (N10K) each as  “many of you are pensioners who are not even sure of getting their funds at the end of the month”. Telling them so, he politely asked them to go their way. This magnanimity to his Katsina Steel Rolling Mill ‘tenants’ did not go down well with those who would rather he charged exorbitantly for the houses, and assign them to collect for him every year end.

His other houses in Katsina and elsewhere, he told the ‘tenants’ to live in them free of charge. However, those who surround him and who do not mean well to others, go behind his back and collect ‘rent’ up to N100, 000 (N100K) which they pocket. He is not aware of that, because it is NEVER easy to reach him and complain. Alhaji is only easy to see if he himself desires to see one, in which case the security men and the gatemen are notified in advance.

The famous Katsina business magnate is legendary for his free feeding program, which is undertaken in most parts of the country, especially in the North. The cities of Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Lokoja and Abuja, to mention some of them, are witness to the free feeding program of Alhaji Mangal. 

He is no less popular in his medical assistance to the poor, especially his free eye treatment, particularly sponsorship of the operation of eye cataracts. He sponsors that regularly.

The business mogul is also known and addressed as the ‘CHAIRMAN’, by many near and far in awe of his immense wealth which he gives out generously to others, especially the less privileged in the society.

May God be our Protector against those who have DARK and DIRTY hearts whose only desire in life is the fulfilment of their selfish ends.
